Location: San Jose, CA


Schedule: 8a to 5p Monday through Friday


Pay: $28 - 30/hour


Requirements: CMA certified through AAMA


Job Type: 90-day temporary position




Job Summary:


The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is responsible for assisting the medical staff (providers, nurses, and on-site Specialty Care Providers) in the provision of safe and efficient delivery of medical services at the clinic, as directed. Under the general supervision of medical staff, the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) performs routine administrative and clinical duties (e.g., scheduling medical appointments, greeting participants, and filing medical records, taking and recording vital signs, preparing exam rooms, and maintaining equipment and supplies). Certified Medical Assistants work collaboratively effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to promote the values, team culture and mission.




Responsibilities
:



  • The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) assists medical staff to address the participants’ needs in the clinic.

  • Maintain Emergency Cart daily log; monitor and maintain medication/vaccine refrigerator log; manage participant sharps containers and maintain log.

  • Administrative duties for the clinic such as answering incoming phone calls.

  • IDT/Care Planning with the team.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications :
Qualifications and Requirements


Education/Training/Certifications:



  • Certification by a Medical Assistant Certifying Organization approved by the State Medical Board (CA).

  • Pass the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam administered by the American Association of Medical Assistant AAMA. (NY).

  • 2-year degree program in Medical Assistance.


Skills and Experience:
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Minimum of two years’ of Medical Assistant experience in a clinical setting with a frail or elderly population.
• Ability to follow directions from supervisor and communicate needs effectively.
• Excellent clinical, organizational and communication skills in settings with seniors, their families, and interdisciplinary team members.
