You must have the following qualifications to be considered:
- Fluent Bilingual: Spanish/English REQUIRED
- Reliable transportation and willingness to drive within a 10-20 mile radius of the South LA County as assigned
- Dental Assistant Certificate from accredited program
- Certifications: Coronal polishing, X-Ray certification, Infection Control & BLS/CPR card
- Years of experience: Minimum of 1 year of Dental Assistant experience
The Dental Assistant assists the dentist(s) in providing primary care services in Mobile Dental Unit as well as for sterilization, preparation, and inventory control of dental instrument supplies. The Mobile Dental Unit Dental Assistant may ride in the Mobile Dental Unit, or meet at the destination location. The Mobile Dental Unit Assistant is not responsible for driving the Mobile Dental Unit.
Schedule: 40 hours weekly
**Schedule with destinations and assignments provided 1 month in advance**
- Monday- Friday, with rotating Saturdays
- 2 Saturdays monthly REQUIRED - Locations: DTLA, Norwalk, West LA and Bell Gardens.
- When working a Saturday, you will have 1 weekday off.
Shift Times: 8 hour shifts
- 6:45am start time when assigned to ride in the Mobile Dental Unit
- 7:45am start when assigned to meet at the destination
Pay Rate - Dental Assistant $23.00 to $25.00 per hour (Depending on experience and knowledge)
Responsibilities:
- The Dental Assistant serves as the dentist's chair side assistant
- Assist patients in resolving minor difficulties, answering their questions and giving directions to patients as authorized by dentist
- Prepares operation procedure for patient treatment as per Dental department protocols or directions
- Completion of dental radiographs in accordance with state regulations and law
- Maintains all Dental Department equipment in accordance with manufacturer's directions
- Maintains a list of Dental Department patients, monitors patient flow, and assist dental director, dental hygienist in assuring that all patient records are documents are filed correctly
- Receives and places necessary telephone calls consistent with a professional manner
- May be required to preform front office duties such as: Scheduling, confirming appointments, verify insurance, check patients in and out, collect co-pay, and manage balance due
