Director of Human Resources


Location:  San Ysidro, CA


Hours:  Monday to Friday, Days






The Director of Human Resources supports the VP/CHRO in the planning, development, recommendation and implementation of human resources programs and practices that support the business goals of the organization. The Director of Human Resources provides strategic HR support and leadership through internal consulting at the organization and department level on organization opportunities based on a broad knowledge of key HR areas. 





  • Provides expert advice and counsel to leaders on all organization and human resources issues. Provides ongoing performance coaching and feedback to the organization’s leaders regarding issues of managerial style, communications, and employee and peer interactions.

  • Promotes HR best practices and fosters collaboration across departments. 

  • Develops, implements, and communicates human resources policies and procedures in order to meet organizational goals of customer service, quality assurance and safety. Ensures all human resources policies and programs are applied fairly, consistently and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. 

  • Assists in the assessment, development, coordination and facilitation of training programs to meet  goals and objectives; and to build understanding of policies, programs and employment laws.


 


Required Qualifications :

Education Required (Minimum level of education):



  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Management or other relevant degree


 


Certifications/Licenses Required:



  • CA driver’s license with appropriate insurance coverage 


 


Certifications/Licenses Preferred:



  • PHR/SPHR/SPHR-CA


 


Experience Required:





  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources and leadership experience. 



  • At least 3 of those years in a Director level position is required. 



  • Management level experience is highly preferred across various areas of human resources including HR business partner/generalist and employee relations, performance management, policy development, legal compliance, management development, and workers’ compensation.
