Who are we?
Our all-inclusive Senior Center offers a full scope of medical and wellness services and is committed to providing services, information, education and recreation for seniors, families, and caregivers in Humboldt County, to serve the area’s growing needs.
This organization has 2 locations in Humboldt County, with the main clinic in Eureka, and supports 300 ongoing participants in the program. A third clinic will be added in the near future to accommodate the needs of the greater community, and to expand reach to new participants in the northern Humboldt County.

Director of Nursing (DON) Job Summary
- Salary: $87,714.00 - $98,717.00/year (plus annual merit program, averages 4% increase)
- Schedule: Schedule/hours: M-F, 8am to 5pm. On Call that rotates and is very minimal - for emergencies only.
- Based in the Senior Outpatient Center in Eureka, with minimal travel to 2 other local clinics as needed. (Mileage reimbursement is provided).
The Director of Nursing reports to the Medical Director and is responsible for oversight of Nursing Services for two clinics. (this will expand to three clinics when the third center is completed). This role directly supervises 11-15 Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs), student interns, and volunteers.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all participants receive quality care, and monitors developing the Nursing sections of the Care Plans for participants, specifying short-term and long-term nursing goals.
- Collaborates with the Medical Director and Human Resources on employee recruitment, hiring, onboarding, leadership and mentorship, and disciplinary process if needed.
- Collaborates with staff and members of the healthcare team, ensuring the coordination of care between all disciplines and support staff.
- Oversees the education for participants and their families, to ensure quality care in the home setting that supports and aligns with the plan of care at the outpatient center.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Active and unencumbered RN license by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
- 3-5 years of nursing experience.
- 1+ years working with a frail or elderly population, preferably in an outpatient setting.
- 1+ year of experience working in a supervisory or leadership position. (Or would consider someone with more years of nursing experience, who has not supervised).
