Employee Relations Specialist

Location : Colorado

Required Years of Experience : 3 years of experience in employee relations. Additional experience can be substituted for the minimum education requirement on a one-for-one year basis.

Job Description :
 

The Employee Relations Specialist addresses leader and employee concerns, facilitates effective communication between management and staff and ensures workplace issues are addressed promptly and fairly. Expertise in conflict resolution, employee engagement strategies, and knowledge of labor laws supporting organizational goals. Proactively identifies potential issues before they escalate, acts with diplomacy, empathy, and uses strong problem-solving skills while conducting investigations into employee grievances, collaborating with various teams inside and outside of HR, and providing recommendations for resolution.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues demonstrating a proactive approach, maintaining a productive and respectful work environment, and handles sensitive situations with empathy and discretion.

  • Employs strong issue-spotting and analytical problem-solving skills for effective intake, analysis, and escalation of ER issues and cases

  • Conducts comprehensive investigations and provides clear and accurate interpretations of company policies and labor laws.

  • Maintains thorough and accurate documentation of all ER case management activities and report on trends.

  • Develops and implements employee relations strategies to improve workplace culture and employee engagement.

  • Serves as a point of contact for leaders and employees to provide timely and effective employee relations support, including coaching, discipline, performance management, policy interpretation, and involuntary terminations.

  • Monitors and synthesizes feedback mechanisms, such as surveys or exit interviews, and recommends actionable improvements.

  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining consistency and minimizing risk.

  • Partners with HR Client Services Directors, HR Business Partners, HR Compliance, legal, risk and others as needed/required.



Certification(s): SHRM CP/SCP preferred; SHRM Workplace Investigation Specialty Credential preferred
