Pay Rate Range: $36.00 - $38.00  per hour

 

We are looking to hire confident Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN) to work at a Clinic in Oakland, CA that is dedicated to serving the Asian community. 

 

 JOB SUMMARY: 

 

With supervision from the Clinic Site RN Manager, performs routine clinical skills and nurse visits, including clinical procedures and participating in patient education.

 


 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:




Clinical Duties 


1. Performs nursing duties under the supervision of the triage/registered nurse. 


2. Identifies health care needs and document medical information clearly and accurately. 


3. Takes and records vital signs, recognizing variances from normal, and taking appropriate action. 


4. Perform clerical duties in Triage offices such as obtaining health information and relevant data, and functioning as an appointment maker under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or a Medical Provider. 


5. Assist in maintaining inventory and order supplies, keeping exam room and nursing area well stocked. 


6. Performs venipuncture and skin punctures for lab tests (if trained). 


7. Performs basic in-house lab tests, obtains/processes other specimens for outside laboratory. 8. Performs EKG, spirometry, audiometry, Snellen, and other tests. 


9. May start IV line (if IV certified) and superimpose IV fluids via primary or secondary infusion line lines (if received training and have completed a Board-approved certification course in IV therapy and venipuncture. 


10. Administers IM, ID, SC, PO, and nebulized medications as ordered by the clinicians. 


11. Performs non-complicated nurse visits by using the SOAP format. 


12. Identifies patient health education needs and participates in patient education. 


13. Review patients’ conditions with clinician/RN as needed. 


14. Assists in medical procedures as needed. 


15. Performs additional clinic duties as necessary under the direction of the clinician, Registered Nurse, or Clinic Site RN Manager. 


16. Performs sterilization, injection control, cleaning of medical instruments/equipment, and clinic areas. 


17. Performs patient counseling and patient teaching as appropriate. 


18. Rotates to satellite clinic as needed. 


19. Assist staff and patients by referring to community resources as appropriate and when necessary.


Required Qualifications :
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

1. Associate's degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or graduate of an approved LVN program 

2. One to three years’ related experience in a health care setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

3. Bilingual/bicultural in an Asian language strongly desired.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

1. Commitment to working in the Asian community, to community health care with familiarity with community health clinics preferred
