Location: Charlottesville, VA 22902


Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8am to 5pm - No Weekends!


Pay: $18-$20/hour depending on experience.


Job Type: Temporary position with potential to hire on permanently.




Job Summary


The Medical Records Clerk plays a vital role in the healthcare system by managing and maintaining patient records with accuracy and confidentiality. This position involves organizing, filing, and retrieving medical records while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and have experience working in a medical office environment.


Duties



  • Organize and maintain patient medical records in accordance with established protocols.

  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all medical documentation.

  • Retrieve patient records for healthcare providers as needed.

  • Assist in the preparation of reports related to patient care and statistics.

  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

  • Update electronic health records (EHR) systems with new patient information and changes to existing records.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare staff to facilitate efficient record management processes.

  • Respond to requests for information from authorized personnel while adhering to privacy policies.


Skills



  • Proficient knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of medical records management practices.

  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office procedures.

  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in data entry and record keeping.

  • Excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interaction with healthcare professionals and patients.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications :
 1 year of Medical Records experience preferred.
