PCA II
Location: Covina, CA
Schedule: Full Time / Hours between 9:30am & 4pm.
Pay: $23 - $26 - Depending on Experience

Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the PACE Supervisor. The PCA II will perform and assist with personal care ADLs/IADL’s for participants in the PACE across all platforms of delivery of care like center and/or in the home or virtual. The PCA II must be able to perform the job duties of a PCA I if assigned. In addition, the PCA II supports the PCA III in the gathering and reporting information related to the care coordination, participant’s ability to engage, maintain/ improve their ability, foster independence, maintain function or improve socialization, or satisfaction. The PCA II communicates and collaborates with IDT members or other PACE staff in the goals of the plan of care, focusing on needs (like participant supplies or tools), and health status, physical and mental well-being.
Work Environment:
1. Work is performed across different platforms of delivery of care – may be located at the PACE center, participant’s home, virtual, telephonic or within the community environment.
2. Participant home may present with varying environments, low risk for exposure when adhering to Universal precautions and proper use of PPE.
3. Will have some exposure to outside environment while assisting attendance to outside specialty appointments by traveling and/or working outdoors.
4. May be subject to hot and/or cold temperatures while working in the dining area, kitchen, and specialist office.
5. When working in the day center, environment is climate controlled through central air conditioning.
Required Skills and Abilities:
1. Ability to read, write and speak in a clear and professional manner.
2. Ability to complete basic/intermediate math computations.
3. Excellent customer service skills and ability to resolve customer service issues and/or escalate to supervisor as needed.
4. Proficient in beginning/intermediate computer skills.
5. High degree of organization and strong attention to detail.
6. Ability to work well with elderly population.
7. Requires lots of patience and a kind/caring attitude.
8. Ability to work as an effective member of the team.
9. Knowledge of HIPAA Guidelines including the Protected Health Information (PHI) privacy requirements.
10. Knowledge of the sterile technique with treatment tasks.
