Medical Director of PACE


Salary Range $209,000 to $260,000 annually + benefits!


 


Requirements to apply:



  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.

  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Practice.

  • Fellowship training in geriatrics preferred.

  • License to practice medicine in the State of Illinois.

  • Must have or be eligible for membership in good standing on the medical staff of the accredited hospitals in the PACE service network.

  • At least three years’ experience as a medical doctor.

  • Must have at least two years of experience working with a frail/elderly population.

  • Ability to make home/residence visits.

  • Leadership skills to supervise medical staff.

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) required.


 


Job Overview


The Medical Director plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality-of-care delivery at the PACE program, collaborating with the Vice President of PACE. Administrative responsibilities involve coordinating medical staff, leading projects, recruiting contract providers, representing PACE at forums, overseeing quality improvement, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Additionally, they supervise clinical staff, implement care protocols, conduct comprehensive assessments, and provide clinical expertise for participant care. The Medical Director also establishes preventive care programs, manages participants in long-term care facilities, and contributes to improving medical documentation quality. Overall, they support the PACE organization's mission and address diverse clinical and administrative duties.

  • Ability to enhance, by association with the PACE program, the program’s visibility and reputation with practicing physicians and area hospitals.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with PACE staff and volunteers as part of the IDT.

  • Excellent communication skills with participants/families/staff and community contacts.
