JOB SUMMARY: 

 

The President will provide visionary leadership, operational oversight, and strategic direction to ensure the organization’s continued growth, financial strength, and mission-driven care delivery. This executive will be responsible for aligning all aspects of the organization—clinical, administrative, and financial—with its core values and long-term objectives. 

 


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or related graduate degree preferred. 

  • At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a C-suite role; prior experience as President or CEO of a healthcare organization or division is strongly preferred

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage professionals across clinical, administrative, and operational domains. 

  • Strong financial leadership with a track record of managing multi-site, multi-state operations and large budgets. 

  • In-depth understanding of hospice care, including regulatory compliance, quality standards, and Medicare/state-specific requirements. 

  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills. 

  • Visionary, mission-driven leader with a demonstrated passion for delivering high-quality, compassionate end-of-life care. 

  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. 

  • Values-driven, ethical, and transparent leadership style.



 


JOB DUTIES:


  • Champion the mission and values of Good Shepherd Hospice while executing a forward-looking strategy focused on growth, operational excellence, and market leadership. 

  • Stay ahead of evolving industry trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics to identify growth opportunities and guide organizational adaptation. 

  • Lead the development and execution of multi-year strategic and financial plans that balance expansion, risk management, and long-term sustainability. 

  • Oversee all operational functions—including clinical services, administration, and support teams—ensuring high-quality, compliant, and patient-centered care across all markets. 

  • Drive process improvement and scalability across the organization, ensuring compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation and other regulatory/accreditation standards. 

  • Leverage data analytics and performance metrics to inform decision-making and drive improvements in clinical quality, efficiency, and financial outcomes. 

  • Manage financial operations including budgeting, capital planning, financial reporting, and oversight of the revenue cycle. 

  • Optimize resource utilization and cost control initiatives to enhance profitability without compromising care quality. 

  • Ensure strong internal controls, governance, and risk management practices to protect company assets and reputation. 

  • Monitor and improve care delivery using key quality metrics, benchmarking data, and publicly reported outcomes. 

  • Pursue strategic growth opportunities, including geographic expansion, affiliations, and partnerships with providers, payers, and community organizations. 

  • Serve as a visible and trusted representative of the organization, building key external relationships with regulatory bodies, community stakeholders, and the media. 

  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing executive team, cultivating a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and integrity.  

  • Promote leadership development and succession planning to ensure ongoing organizational strength and continuity.
