Registered Dental Assistant

The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) will function as a circulating assistant in chairside dental procedures . The RDA must be knowledgeable in all dentistry procedures, clinic infection control procedures, cleaning and sterilization of instruments, tray setup and materials. This position carries the responsibility of ensuring the dental workflow and productivity standards are met in their assigned clinic, while delivering quality patient care to the population we serve.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Ability to perform all phases of four (4) handed Dental Assisting duties for endodontics, oral surgery, pedodontics, prosthodontics, and restorative procedures.

  • Possess the skills necessary to perform Registered Dental Assistant duties as per State of California licensing guidelines.

  • Ability to perform standard and radiographic methods. Expose, process and mount diagnostic radiographs.

  • Familiarity with dental terminology, materials mediations and instruments used during dental procedures.

  • Clean, sterilize instruments, and set up trays.

  • Stock store all supplies and materials.

  • Maintenance and testing of equipment (Sterilizer, x-ray dosimetry, x-ray processor, etc.) including daily lubricating.

  • Take dental impressions.

  • Educates patients in oral hygiene and preventative dental education under the supervision of the dentist.

  • Documentation of exam findings in patient records using electronic patient records system.

  • Maintain clean, orderly and well stocked operatories and laboratories.

  • Ability to plan work duties to ensure dental office clinic efficiency.

  • Knowledge of patient scheduling procedures.

  • Participate in training to provide better patient care such as learning evidence-based approaches to self-management support, proactively addressing the needs to patients and families in the community, cultural competency, and effective communication.

  • Perform all other duties as directed either formally or informally, verbal or in writing.


 


Required Qualifications :
 

KEY REQUIREMENTS



  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required

  • Registered Dental Assistant Licensed by the State of California

  • Infection Control and Dental Law Certification

  • X-Ray Certification

  • Sealants Certification

  • Current American Heart Association

  • BLS Certification

  • Valid Driver License and proof of personal liability

  • Fully fluent in English and Spanish; required.


 


Schedule:



  • 8 hour shift

  • Monday to Friday

All patients are subjected to COVID screening and are required to wear a mask when not receiving treatment. All staff members must be fully vaccinated.


Experience:



  • Dental assisting: 1 year (Preferred)


License/Certification:



  • BLS Certification (Required)

  • Coronal Polish Certificate (Required)

  • Infection Control Certification (Required)

  • Registered Dental Assistant (Required)

  • Driver's License (Required)

  • X-Ray Certification (Required)
