Salary Range:$90,063.00 To $118,170.00 Annually 

 


Must meet all Qualifications to Apply: 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field. 

  • California Licensed Registered Nurse. 

  • Certification as an auditor or in a related field is NOT REQUIRED but a plus. 

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in auditing, compliance, or a related field within the healthcare or elder care industry. 

  • Experience with medication management and elder care regulations is strongly preferred. 

  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to elder care and residential facilities. 

  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. 

  • Strong investigative and problem-solving abilities. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Proficiency in using audit software and Microsoft Office Suite. 

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred. 

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle to travel between facilities as needed (mileage reimbursed).

Position Summary: 

The Registered Nurse (RN) Auditor for Community Care Licensing Facilities and Recuperative Care Program sites is responsible for ensuring that all housing and recuperative care facilities, including clinical services for underserved populations such as the elderly, comply with relevant regulations and standards. This role involves conducting audits, performing medication reconciliation, and investigating reports of patient abuse. The auditor plays a critical role in safeguarding the health, safety, and well-being of elderly residents by ensuring that facilities adhere to high standards of care. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Conduct regular and thorough audits of housing facilities for underserved populations, including the elderly, to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, such as those set by the Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD). 

2. Review facility records, resident files, and operational procedures to verify adherence to licensing requirements. 

3. Identify areas of non-compliance and work with facility management to develop corrective action plans. 

4. Visit and inspect housing facilities to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. 

5. Collaborate with site management, staff (including custodians), vendors, and other entities (including government officials) to ensure facilities are clean and equipment is in proper working condition. 

6. Perform detailed medication reconciliation audits to ensure proper administration, storage, and documentation of medications. 

7. Verify that all medications prescribed to residents are properly recorded, dispensed, and administered according to physician orders. 

8. Review and audit medication logs, checking for discrepancies or potential errors in medication administration. 

9. Work closely with healthcare providers and facility staff to resolve any issues related to medication management. 

10. Investigate all reports and allegations of patient abuse, neglect, or exploitation within the facility. 

11. Conduct interviews with residents, staff, and other relevant parties to gather information and evidence. 

12. Document findings and prepare detailed reports for submission to appropriate authorities. 

13. Collaborate with law enforcement and other regulatory bodies during investigations as needed. 

14. Ensure appropriate measures are taken to protect residents from harm during the investigation process. 

15. Provide training and guidance to facility staff on regulatory compliance, proper medication management, and elder abuse prevention. 

16. Develop and implement educational programs to enhance staff awareness and understanding of their responsibilities. 

17. Prepare and submit comprehensive audit reports to the Director of Compliance and other relevant stakeholders. 

18. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all audits, investigations, and corrective actions taken. 

19. Ensure all documentation complies with legal and regulatory standards. 

20. Monitor industry trends and changes in regulations to keep facilities up-to-date with best practices. 

21. Recommend and implement improvements to policies, procedures, and practices to enhance the quality of care and compliance.
